About

I have been working in the field of psychology since 1995 and started my private practice in 2003. To witness people grow, change, and live a happier life is an amazing gift. I hope people leave here with new coping skills, different ways of approaching life, and feeling better about themselves.

Education:

Tufts University, BA, 1994 (cum laude)

Experience:

My favorite work setting is what I am doing now in private practice! I have also worked in a variety of settings including schools, outpatient adult and child treatment clinics, rape crisis centers, residential facilities, a sexual therapy clinic, inpatient units, a medical residency training program, and a geriatric partial day hospital. I have supervised new clinicians as they learn to do intake assessments and therapy at the doctoral level.

I use a Cognitive Behavioral framework to look at how we can change thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Each part influences the other, so there are many places to alter patterns that haven’t worked in the past.

I have a focus in areas such as anxiety, depression, chronic illness and pain, divorce, grief, infidelity, life transitions, marital and premarital relationships, parenting, pregnancy, self-esteem, sexual dysfunction, sex therapy, senior concerns, and women’s issues.

SPECIALTIES AND ADVANCED TRAINING:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Couples Therapy

  • Relationship Issues

  • Sex Therapy

  • Senior Concerns

  • Women’s Issues

I live on Long Island with my husband , 2 children, and 2 cats. I love to bake, read, craft. and explore new places and ideas. I’m warm and encouraging, and I do talk during therapy!
